Our Wisdom, Our Ways supporting Aboriginal Women carers using a strengths based approach to the development of carer and clinician resources that support the carer to continue to care

  • Description
Collaborative research driven by First Nations women and female Elders is a priority in addressing the urgent need for carers research using First Nations knowledges leading to transformative change. Current carers resources silence the experiences of First Nations carers and emphasises a dominant Western approach. Creating resources that are culturally safe and responsive to the lived knowledges of First Nations carers, through co-development, intergenerational, support holistic health, and the centrality of culture for carers will positively impact the health and wellbeing of First Nations carers and transform the care that they are able to provide to those they care for.
